Sharon began her career in theater and film in San Francisco California in the late 70' and early 80'. She trained in theatrical make-up and theater at the San Francisco Opera and became the first woman in the union in the bay area (ITASE). She began working at FM Productions in 1979 which was an arm of Bill Graham Present and trained in scenic painting, electrics and softgoods. Through this work and her training at the opera she met several cinematographers from ILM (Industrial Light & Magic) and began working in a team to produce (PSA's) for non-profit organizations in the bay area. These included work for the YMCA and Haight Ashbury free clinic which won a Clio Award that year.
For over ten years Sharon continued to work for FM Productions and work freelance as a make-up artist, producer and crew for One Pass Video, Toby Heindel Productions and Boyington Films in the San Francisco area. In 2004 she began working on the America Creates project and spent the next 7 years building a website to support American Artists and craftsmen. Her passion is telling the stories of artists like herself who create wonderful things. Whether its a sculptor in Ohio, a potter in Florida or a weaver in Nebraska I love to hear the stories of how people come to their craft. We continue to produce videos for artist, musicians, corporate event and more. Documentary style is our specialty. |
